Beloved husband of 22 years to Maria De Sousa. Loving father of Debbie Allen (Jeff), Maureen De Sousa, Lesley De Sousa (Gabriel), Yuriana Jurado (Carlos), Otilio Mendoza (Michelle), Patricia, David and Michael Monteiro. Dear brother of Felix, Mary Jo & Lorraine. Devoted grandfather of Morgan, Sabrina, Ezekiel, Jacob, Miguel, Elias, Maya & Camila on the way. Preceded in death by his grandson, Scott, Jr. and three siblings, Maria, Teresa and Antonio.
Born in Portugal, dad came to the U.S. at the age of 17. He was a West Sacramento resident for 55 years. Founder of De Sousa's Furniture Restoring, Inc. in 1968 which is still in operation today, along with De Sousa's Designs, Inc. founded in collaboration with his daughter, Lesley in 2010.
Visitation hours will be, Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with Vigil Services at 6:00 P.M. all at River Cities Funeral Chapel, 910 Soule St., West Sacramento. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, August 15, at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1321 Anna St., West Sacramento.
Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Holy Cross Church in memory of George De Sousa.
