(Daughter of James and Anna Alspach. Died Novr. 4, 1849. Aged 3 years 10 mo & 21 ds.
I don't know anything else about this precious little girl, other than she is related to me through my father when our name was still Alspach and not Alspaugh. She lived and died in the 1800s and there are gravestones in this cemetery written in German. Although there has been vandalism in this cemetery, Sweet Caroline's grave remains undisturbed.
I don't understand what the metal box is on top of her grave.
Caroline and the rest of my ancestors are buried in a small cemetery across the road from Betzer Cemetery. My dad told me when he was little there was a church next to the graveyard and when his aunt was buried, the church bells rang once for every year of her life.)
