Funeral services for Marley T. Hendrix were conducted September 18th at 2:30 p.m. from the First Baptist church in Erick with the pastor, Rev. Robert S. Franks, officiating.
Mr. Hendrix was born in Jackson, Tennessee, January 6, 1891, and departed this life September 16, 1958 after a lengthy illness. He was married to Ida Alice Snider in 1911. Seven children were born to this unions, five still survive.
He moved to Delhi in 1908 and to the Erick vicinity in 1912, and has been engaged in farming south of town since that time.
He was united with the First Baptist Church, Erick, in 1930.
Survivors include the wife, Ida, two sons, Eldon of the home, and Herman of Lubbock, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Victor Billington, Lubbock, Texas, Mrs. David Meek, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Mrs. Elmo Ball, Hobart; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Joe of Erick, and Granville of Arvin, California; two sisters, Mrs. Bert Holland, Bell, California, and Mrs. Lucy Blankenship of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of friends.
Interment was in the Erick Cemetery with the Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
