BURLESON -- Maranda Brooke Abshire, 22, and her precious sons, Christopher Adrian Domingues, 5, and Cruz Anthony Domingues, 2, went to be with our Lord around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015, from injuries sustained in an accident on Highway 67 in Alvarado.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at the First Baptist Church in Alvarado. Burial: Bethany Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home.

Maranda was born Sept. 19, 1992, in Cleburne, and grew up in Alvarado, Texas. She was raised by her grandparents Eldon and Doris Abshire who are lifelong residents of Alvarado. She graduated from Alvarado High School in 2011 and was studying to be a paralegal. Maranda worked at Chili's in Cleburne for five years where she made many friends. Her boys were her pride and joy and made her life worthwhile.

She is survived by her maternal grandparents, Doris and Eldon Abshire; mother, Kimberly Michelle Thompson of Alvarado; father, Michael E. Hicks of Rio Vista; brothers, Grady Abshire and Rhett Hicks; sisters, Katie Valentine and Lindsey Reynolds; paternal grandparents, Marshall Hicks and wife, Barbara, and Sherry Neel, and husband, Rocky. Maranda also had numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Adrian was born Jan. 26, 2010 and Cruz was born August 16, 2012 in Fort Worth, Texas to Maranda and Christopher Adam Dominguez. Five days a week they stayed with their great grandparents Doris and Eldon Abshire and Uncle Grady Abshire while Maranda worked and studied. In addition to the survivors of their mother's family, they are survived by their Uncle Eric Dominguez and Aunt Nora who raised their father, Chris. There are also numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins on their father's side.

Pallbearers for Maranda are cousins Dustin Abshire, Leonard "Trey" Abshire, Jeffrey Houston, Jacob Houston, Johnny Crow and Zach Bohlman.

Pallbearers for Adrian and Cruz are Damian Domiguez, Eric Dominguez, Jose Dominguez, Mitchell Greenway, Francisco Rocha, Robert Rincon, Aaron Rocha and Arnulfo Rios.

Maranda and her precious sons were a blessing and a joy to her family. We were so proud of her for being such a devoted mother. She was hard working and wanted to make a good life for herself and her boys. These three angels will be greatly missed by all but will remain forever in our hearts.
