Mrs. Ila Mae Lineback Essex, 84, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Essex was born on May 15, 1930 in Forsyth County to Robah Franklin and Ida Kimel Lineback. She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. To her family and friends, Ila Mae will be remembered as the embodiment of a giving and loving spirit. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Lineback. Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Charles Edward (Ed) Essex; a son, Larry Essex and wife, Nancy; a daughter, Debbie Williard and husband, David; three grandchildren, Suzanne Bowman and husband, John, Michael Williard and wife, Mandy and Laiken Holloway; three great grandchildren, Alicia Williard, Alexandria Bowman and Jude Bowman; a brother, Edwin (Ed) Lineback and wife, Nancy; a sister-in-law, Virginia Lineback and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Hochmuch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 4265 Ebert Road, WS, N.C. 27127.
