Emma was born 6 Oct 1869 Red Rock, Bastrop Co TX died 9 Nov 1961 IOOF Home Ennis Ellis Co TX

Emma was a school teacher and a widow since 1899 Her husband was John Robert Steadman, a train engineer, was killed when his train turned over in Travis Co TX 3 Nov 1899.

Emma was the daughter of Jacob Bird Hemphill (1844-1935)and Emily Victoria Jernigan (1843-1921)

Emma was mother to Robert J. Steadman 1892-1941; Mary B. Steadman 1896; and George H. Steadman 1898 *** George was the informant on Emma's death certificate Emma lived in El Paso TX for the 1930 and 1940 census .

Not sure how the name on the tombstone was misspelled."
