Mrs. Sadie Mae Green, 74, departed this life to be with the Lord on April 13, 2009 at NHC Parkwood Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born on August 12, 1934 to the late Enis and Rosia Carter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Dorothy N. Gowdy of Meridian, MS; two brothers, James and Ernest Carter of Chattanooga, TN, and sister, Ollie Bell Carter of Chattanooga, TN.
She leaves to mourn her memory a daughter, Mrs. Blannie M. Gowdy of Chattanooga, TN.; two sons, Mr. Tommy E. (Nita) Gowdy, Sr. and Mr. Michael Green, both of Chattanooga, TN; a sister, Mrs. Essie M. Barlow, Chattanooga, TN; a brother, Mr. Edward Carter, Chattanooga, TN; a sister-in-law, Christabell Carter Johnson of Baltimore, MD; two ex-husbands, Mr. Earl Gowdy of Meridian, MS and Mr. Cecil Green of Chattanooga, TN.; four granddaughters; Ms. Lisa Williams, Mrs. Nadeene (Mac) Gholston, Ms. Janae Gowdy, all of Chattanooga, TN., and Catherine Gowdy of Atlanta, GA; a grandson, Mr. Tommy E. Gowdy, Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN; four great granddaughters, Jalexus, Asia and Amany McClendon, Ariyah Gholston, all of Chattanooga, TN.; two great grandsons, Tyon Gowdy and Shaun Paris; ten nephews, three nephews-in-law; eight nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends.
