Lance Cpl. Daniel Scott R. Bubb of Grottoes, Va. Daniel was like an adult, cleaning up after himself after visiting a friend's house, making him popular among parents. He was like everybody's child. He was born to the whole town of Grottoes, more or less. He was killed the day before he was to turn 20. Inspired by the Sept. 11 attacks, he finished high school at 17 and joined the Marines. He was the son of Janey Ella Harrah and stepfather, Steven Harrah. Daniel was a member of Grottoes United Methodist Church where he was an acolyte and was active in youth groups with the church. He loved being a tour guide for Grand Caverns and was in the band at Fort Defiance High School. In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by two two brothers, his grandmother, step grandparents, his great grandmother. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Edward Bubb. The Weyers Cave Road bridge over Interstate 81 in Weyers Cave, Va., was named in honor of Marine Lance Cpl. Daniel Bubb. He was 19.
