Rita Faye Ector, 53, of Chattanooga, Tn., and Cheverly, Md., died on Thursday, May 8, 2008.

Rita was born on February 2, 1955, in Chattanooga, and was of the Baptist faith.

Rita was preceded in death by her father, James A. Carter; grandfather, Ink Thomas; grandmother, Lowdell Thomas; and three siblings, Wayne L.
Carter, Rosetta A. Carter and Richard L. Johnson.

She is survived by her two loving sons; Edward (Amanda) Ector III, Chattanooga, and Antwran Ghideon, Nashville, Tn.; a devoted loving mother, Christibell (Dillard) Johnson, Cheverly Md.; two devoted brothers; her twin brother, Walter R. Carter, Calvin Carter of Chattanooga and Cheverly, Md.; two other close brothers, Dillard Johnson Jr., Tony Johnson of Cheverly; aunts, Lola Mae Kitchen, Janna Thomas, Elsie Mae Carter, Sadie Green, all of Chattanooga, Jence (James) Baker, Cheverly; an adopted aunt, Fannie (Eddie) Holmes, Chattanooga; Ann Dave of Cheverly, Florence Pilex, Washington D.C., and Roberta Israel, Virginia; uncles, Robert Wilkes, Cheverly, Edward Carter, Chattanooga, and Donell Johnson of Rocky Mt., N.C.; four grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, best friend, Gwen Little, Cheverly.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, at the John P. Franklin Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Chaney officiating.

Her body lie in state on Monday, from 1:30-8 p.m.

Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Condolences may be sent 1019 West 37th Street.
