Fred Auriemmo was the first of two sons born to Sabato Auriemma and Francesca Marigliano. He lost his father at a very young age. His mother remarried and he had two more brothers and a sister.
He was united in marriage to Laura Riportella in 1946. Together, they had a daughter, Frances, and a son, Samuel.
Fred lived most of his life in Brooklyn, NY, but he would travel to Italy to visit family whom still lived there.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, and his brother, Gennaro. He was survived by his wife, Laura; his children; two brothers, Alexander and Joe Ammendola; his sister, Angie (Rini); and several close family members.
