KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. Conway M. Pagett, 90, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain.
He was born on Nov. 28, 1918, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Oliver and Katherine Conway Pagett.
He was husband for 66 years to the late Thelma Orcutt Pagett; they were married just before World War II. They moved to California and settled in Fallbrook, where they lived for 50 years. About 17 years ago they moved to Kings Mountain and made it their home. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church of Kings Mountain, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army, receiving the Bronze Star and other honors. He retired from General Service Administration as wage classification officer. Conway was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three infant children; an adult son, Jerry Pagett; and a sister, Gladys Rogers.
He is survived by a son, Stephen Pagett of Tega Cay, S.C.; daughter, Mary P. Borchert and husband, Ernst, of Kings Mountain; brother, Garland Pagett of Hamburg, N.Y.; sister, Margaret Markham of St. George, Utah; 11 grandchildren, Shawn Pagett, Shannon Collins, Tammy Pagett, Ernst Borchert IV, Eric Borchert, Elizabeth Arant, Elise Thomas, Erin Borchert, Evan Borchert, Matthew Pagett and Riley Pagett; 21 great-grandchildren, Ernst V., Ehren, Jennifer, Steven, Dana, Eric, Christopher, Joshua, Stacey, Gracey, Sydney, Tyler, Cody, Casey, Christopher, Jonathan, Jocelyn, Ethan, Dillon, Dakota and Samantha; and two great-great-grandchildren, Ericka and Jaydon.
