Keith Miller, 82, of Longmont, CO passed away February 24, 2015 in Tucson, AZ. Keith was born on September 2, 1932 to Earl Leroy and Agnes Margarete (Reither) Miller in their home outside of Aitkin, MN.
Keith graduated from Aitkin High School in 1950. He attended Minnesota, Georgetown and Baylor Universities, accumulating several degrees including Doctor of Dental Surgery.
After an associated dental practice in Minneapolis, MN, Keith entered the Army Dental Service in August, 1958. He served in Korea, Japan, Washington D.C., Ft. Knox, KY, West Point Military Academy, NY, and the Office of the Surgeon General in Washington, D.C. One of his tours was 18 months with the Army Intelligence Agency located above the Red Sea, 7,600 ft. elevation, in Asmara, Ethiopia. As a Lt Colonel and Director of Dental Services, he and his staff were responsible for over 2,000 military, their spouses and 600 children. In addition, he provided dental service for the Emperor Haile Selassie and members of the Royal Family. Colonel Miller retired in 1978 as Director of Dental Services at Ft. Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, IN.
Keith married Barbara Lynn Barker in January, 1980 and they made their home in Longmont, CO. They enjoyed their life together, especially landscaping their yard with large red granite boulders and carving, cutting and polishing agate, jasper and jade.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; Earl(1903-1979) and Agnes(1907-1999).
Keith is survived by his wife Barbara and 2 children along with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
