Thomas W. Binebrink, Sr. died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the Ellicott City Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ellicott City, MD. He was 90 years old Born in Ridgely, MD on November 22, 1922, Mr. Binebrink was the son of the late William Dennis Binebrink and Etta Bridgett Lynch Binebrink. His wife, Bettie Dilts Binebrink, died May 15, 2007. Mr. Binebrink grew up in Ridgely, MD. He was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Infantry during WWII, serving in the European Theater where he earned the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. After the War, he became a self-employed carpenter and had also worked as a carpenter in the Annapolis Boat Yard, retiring in the 1970's. He was a member of the Crownsville American Legion Post 7. He was also the past Commander of the Annapolis Chapter 122 of the Order of the Purple Heart. He had received many awards recognizing his work on behalf of veterans. He had also served on the Ethics Committee for the City of Annapolis. Mr. Binebrink is survived by one son, Thomas W. Binebrink, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a daughter, Sherri Ussery of Salisbury, MD; a stepdaughter, Janice Null of Laurel, MD; one stepson, Jerry Owens of Cape St. Claire, MD; three sisters: Edith Short Dulin of Millersville, MD, Mildred Paessler of Richmond, VA, and Margaret (Peggy) Ebling of Salisbury, MD; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Robert P. Binebrink and J. Wilson Binebrink. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Binebrink is predeceased by two brothers: Robert Paul Binebrink and J. Wilson Binebrink; A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 PM Friday, June 28th, at the St Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, 408 Central Ave. in Ridgely where friends may visit with the family from 12 until 1 before the service. The interment will be in the Greenmount Cemetery on Cemetery Road in Hillsboro, MD. Memorial donations may be made to Annapolis M.O.P.H. A Chapter 122, 15826 Bradford Drive, Laurel, MD 20707.
