PIEDMONT -- Joel Rufus Warren, 76, of Piedmont, Rt. 2 died Thursday at 9:15 a.m. at Piedmont Hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. at Mickelsen's Brown-Service Mortuary Chapel with the Rev's Harold Graham and Warren Mitchell and Robert Lowery officiating. Burial was at Highland Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clyde Warren; one daughter, Mrs. Webb Roberts of Piedmont, Rt. 1; four sons, Taul H., Frank C., Robert J., and Ralph C. all of Piedmont; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. John Stewart, Mrs. Sharpe Stewart, Mrs. Faye Davis, Mrs. Jenny Naugher, Mrs. Frank Early and Mrs. Herbert Woolf, all of Piedmont, and two brothers, Hugh E., and Elbert T., both of Spring Garden.
Pallbearers were Ollie Stewart, Fred Warren, Carmel Davis, Jones Stewart, Frank Naugher and Kenneth Kirkpatrick.
Mr. Warren was a retired farmer and had resided in the Piedmont area all his life. He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Masonic graveside rites were conducted by Lozabalchee Lodge No. 97 of which he was a member.
