From Taunton Daily Gazette 2 Oct 1984. Dighton - Catherine E. Murphy, 87, formerly of 137 Broadway, died yesterday at the Dighton Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine (Hayden) Murphy. SHe was educated at St. Mary schools. She was a former bookkeeper for the F.W. Woolworth Company, having worked there for 50 years before her retirement in 1962. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. She leaves several nieces and nephews including Alice McCusker, Mrs. Kenneth (Irene) Baker, and Mrs. Ralph (Grace) Reckard, all of Taunton, and several great neices, including Mrs. Maureen Parkinson, Mrs. Carolyn Meek and Mrs. Virginia Buckley.
