Thomas J. Aab of New Orleans passed away Friday February 13, 2015 after a long and wonderful life of 82 years. He was born in Jamaica, Queens on September 13, 1932 to John L Aab Sr and Kathryn Julia Morris Aab. He was a proud New Yorker and Brooklyn Dodger fan his whole life. He met the love of his life and wife of 56 years Evelyn Jean Dyehouse Aab at Bloomingdale's in New York. After a whirlwind romance they married on June 21, 1958. His career in men's retail spanned 4 decades and included many large retailers such as Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Maison Blanche. He was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Algiers. He loved to ride in the Saint Patrick's Day Parade with the Algiers Irish Rebels. He had genuine interest in life and people. He would often have a gift (usually a book) for people based on a conversation they had shared. He loved to walk, especially with Martha. He loved to dance. He loved to have a good time. He will be greatly missed by his four children Andrea Leger, Alicia Tronson, Alexander Aab, and Addison Hofmann and their families, his brother John L. Aab Jr, and all of his cousins and friends across the country. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle in Algiers at 11 AM on Tuesday February 24. He will be buried with his family at Mount St. Mary Cemetery in Brooklyn NY. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you get yourself something nice, buy a book or go out with some friends and raise a toast to our dad. He would have liked that.
