Pennington Gap, VA Peggy Sue King Smith, 86, of Lake Worth, FL passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015. She was born in Pennington Gap, VA on July 16, 1928 to Murphy King and Ruby Barlow King. She married the late Joseph C. Smith, Jr. (J.C) in Pennington Gap. They lived in Saltville, VA before moving to Lake Worth, FL in 1954. Peggy was a Montessori teacher at Northern Private School in Lake Worth for many years before moving back to Pennington "The Hope of the World" as she always stated.She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Virginia Wallen and Marilyn Rush and brother Fred King. Peggy was a great mom to Joseph Curtis Smith III (Joe) of Lake Worth and Susan Tieche (Johnnie), of Lake Worth, FL. She was a grandmother to Christine and Jonathan Tieche of Lake Worth, FL. She was a sister-in-law of Virginia Grabeel, Betty Smith, and Louise Smith of Pennington Gap, VA.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 12 noon until 1:00 at Sturgill Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Nancy Hobbs.
