Lester H. Dean, III, "Buster," passed away peacefully in his sleep, February 01, 2015.
In the near future, there will be a ceremony to commit his ashes to the repository located at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery located near Milledgeville.
As a Chief Warrant Officer II, Buster served with Army Security Agency and was located in various U.S. stations in Asia during the Vietnam war. He was a linguist and was charged with managing staff, whose purpose was to intercept and translate foreign transmissions that could adversely affect U.S. efforts on the ground in Vietnam.
Post-Vietnam era, Buster served in South Korea, managing groups responsible for maintaining readiness of communications towers placed by the U.S. in South Korean territory. He later served with National Security Agency (NSA) during the 1980's. Later, Buster became a consultant with several contractor groups supporting the U.S. Military.
Bridges Funeral Home and Crematory in Gray has charge of arrangements.
