Herald Coaster, July 9, 1978:

Funeral services for Michael Ray Dromgoole, 16, of Houston, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Garmany & Co. Missouri City Chapel, with the Rev. Jewell McClure officiating Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.

The young man would have been a junior at Westbury High School where he played on the football team. He lost his life in an automobile accident near Hitchcock on July 6.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William O. Dromgoole of Houston; one brother, Lance Cpl. Mark A. Dromgoole of Okinawa in the U.S. Marines; grandparents, Mrs. Essie Dromgoole of Kenedy, and Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Barnett of Carthage.

The family has requested memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church in Missouri City (Mike Dromgoole Memorial Fund).

Friends may call by the funeral home chapel after 5 p.m. Saturday.
