Danelle Perminda Duvall

Private family services for Danelle Perminda Duvall will be in Claremore on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. She will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Danelle passed away at her home in Tulsa on Friday evening, February 6, 2015. She was 59. Her care has been entrusted to Rice Funeral Service.

Born December 31, 1955 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Danelle was one of eight children born to James Leslie and Mary Joan (Hill) Hardin.

She grew up and received her education in Midwest City, graduating from Carl Albert High School with the class of 1974. She then attended Oklahoma Baptist University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 1978.

After completing her undergraduate studies, she married and became the devoted mother to her two sons, David and William.

She chose to find work that fit well with her sons’ school schedules, while also completing her master’s degree in education at Oral Roberts University.

She taught school at Grace Fellowship Academy and Carver Middle School both in Tulsa. She was a dedicated classroom teacher throughout her career with 22 years spent nurturing and instructing the students as Carver. Her teacher's schedule brought her the opportunity to share more times with her sons.

Danelle enjoyed nature, gardening, and music, but above all, loved to spend time with her two sons and extended family.

She was often the life of the party and her fun-loving spirit brought so much to joy to all around her.

Danelle’s lifelong faith in Jesus Christ was her strength and foundation, and is an enduring legacy she passed on to her sons.

She encouraged her sons to pursue their interests – she wanted David to become a doctor, which he did and Will became a wonderful musician, a talent he no doubt got from his mother.

Her beloved family commented that all the character and moral fiber of her sons came from her example.

An adoring grandmother as well, Danelle doted on her grandchildren and taught them to call her “Savta,” the modern Hebrew word for grandmother.

This selfless mother, grandmother, daughter and sister is survived by her two sons, Dr. and Mrs. David (Andrea) Duvall, and their children Dexter and Beatrice, Los Angeles, CA and William (Amanda) Duvall, Washington D.C.;

parents Rev. James and Mary Hardin, Caney, KS; seven siblings, Will (Ronda) Hardin, Dallas, TX; Karynne Hardin, Caney, KS; Ginger (Rev. Miller) Cunningham, Dallas, TX; Rosemanne (Andy) Park, Bartlesville, OK; James (Cera) Hardin, Bakersfield, CA; Timothy Hardin, Norman, OK; and Dr. Thad (Lisa) Hardin, Athens, TX; numerous treasured nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister-in-laws, Karri and Nancy Hardin.
