Beresenia Walker Hill, a former supervisor of reading for Richmond Public Schools and the wife of noted civil rights attorney Oliver W. Hill Sr., died Monday. She was 82. Mrs. Hill earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Howard University in Washington. Her teaching career in Richmond began in 1947 and ended with her retirement in 1975. She was a former member of the Virginia Historical Society, a past member of the executive board of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, a lifetime member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and a past national president of the Moles social group. She is survived by her husband; a son, Oliver W. Hill Jr.; and a sister, Evalyn Shaed, all of Richmond. A funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel at Virginia Union University. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
