Gade G. Agena
Gade G. Agena. son of Gade Agena and Margaret Ackerman Agena, was born Oct 29, 1891 at Sterling, Nebr. He was baptized Nov. 1, 1891 at Immanuel Lutheran church west of Sterling, and was confirmed there by the Rev. Firnhaber March 27, 1912.
He grew up on the family farm northwest of Sterling and lived there until 1947. He then made his home in Sterling with his sister, Mrs. Herman Harms. When his health began to fail several years ago he lived in nursing homes, the last of which was the Good Samaritan Center of Syracuse.
Three week ago he became ill and was taken to Johnson County hospital in Tecumseh, Nebr., where he passed away Feb. 11, 1973 at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 12 days.
Mr. Agena was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one brother. He is survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Febr. 13 in St. John American Lutheran Church, Sterling, with the Rev. W. R. Debner officiating. Interment was in St. John's cemetery, Sterling.
