Mrs. Sally Ethel Ervin Barnett, age 88 of the Tails Creek Community, Ellijay, Georgia passed on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Born July 8, 1926 in Verda, Harlan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late John Richardson Ervin and the late Lucy (Miracle) Ervin. Mrs. Barnett was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker. She was an avid reader and enjoyed quilting. She was a Beloved Mother, Beloved Mamaw, and Dear friend to many. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard. L. Barnett, daughter, Jacqueline Barnett Cole, brothers, Hubert, Paul, James and Jack Ervin, and sisters Sarah, Hassie, Lizze and Elsie.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Betty Barnett of Dalton, GA, Ken and Carol Barnett of Lake Michigan, William Barnett of Ellijay, GA, and John and Mary-Faye Barnett of Ellijay, GA and daughters and sons-in-law, Lois Taylor of Lapeer, MI, Lucy Barnett of Dalton, GA, Virginia and Phil Enders of Pontiac, MI and Darlene and Bennie Crowe of Spring City, TN, brothers and sisters-in-law, Argene and Shirley Ervin of Tazewell, TN, Delano Ervin of Ewing, VA Raymond and Pamela Ervin of Rose Hill, VA, Larkin and Cathy Ervin of Beaverton, MI, John and Janet Ervin of Oxford, MI, George and Lola Ervin of Columbia, TN and Jerry and Zetta Ervin of Pineville, KY, sister and brother-in-law, Oppie (Hood) Clark of Inkster, MI., 22 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday February 7th, 2015 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating. Graveside interment will follow in the Pleasant Gap Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellijay, GA.
