Minnie Pearl Carnahan was born at Rubottom, Indian Territory to Tommy and Emma Cook Carnahan.

She lived her whole life in the Courtney area, attended school there where she graduated from the 8th grade.

Minnie married Buddy Watkins and they had one son Billy Joe. Tragically Buddy was killed in an auto accident.

Minnie married P.D. Black July 15, 1935 at Marietta and resided in a small home situated in the middle of Belleville where two children were born: Gale Dean Feb 16, 1937 and Carol Jean Oct 22, 1938.

In 1942 P.D. and Minnie built a new home in a wooded area at the edge of their pecan orchards on the Red River. This was Minnie's home for almost fifty years.
