I'm A Believer (Sung by the Monkees)

I thought love was only true in fairy tales
Meant for someone else but not for me
Love was out to get me
That's the way it seemed
Disappointment haunted all of my dreams
Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her if I tried
I thought love was more or less a giving thing
Seems the more I gave the less I got
What's the use in tryin'
All you get is pain?
When I needed sunshine, I got rain
Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her if I tried
Oh
Oh, love was out to get me
Now, that's the way it seemed
Disappointment haunted all of my dreams
Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her if I tried
Yes, I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
Said, I'm a believer, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (I'm a believer)
Said, I'm a believer, yeah (I'm a believer)
I said, I'm a believer, yeah (I'm a believer)
(this song reminds me of Lisa and our good times dancing listening to records)

I remember so many days when I was a little girl in my aunts living room with my first cousin Lisa(she was closest to me in age and our moms lived near each other) listening to their record player and dancing our hearts out-acting like fools to certain songs with no worries of anything, just laughing, living in the moment. Some of my first tastes of music , other that the AM radio, happened with Lisa. Her older brother listened to a different kind of "rock" than we did at that time we were usually banned from his room :)
I was no more than 5-6 years old. The Monkees, Janis Joplin and The Partidge Family are the three that I can remember sharing with her the most..... music is still a very big and important part of my life. Thanks for all the memories. You're so missed :(

Sara Lisa Renfro died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015. Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, Hurst Christian Church, 745 Brown Trail, Hurst. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please donate to Multiple Sclerosis Association of America. She was born Sept. 15, 1959.

(Published in Star-Telegram on Jan. 30, 2015 )

Left behind to grieve Lisa's untimely death are her brother, Steve Renfro, sister-in-laws Shila Strawn Yeats and Rebecca Renfro, nieces Aubree Renfro, and Jenny Renfro, nephews Dave Renfro (Cristina), and Lee Renfro, great-nephew Donald Renfro, her cherished dog Angel, long-time best friend Rhonda Dixon Osterley and many other cousins and friends.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Doris (Williams) Renfro and Jack Renfro and her brother, Don Renfro.

Lisa had become a California Girl at heart and considered San Diego home after moving there many years ago from Texas. She worked as a Children's Advocate with the Social Services Division until her illness. She relocated back to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area to be near her family during that time.

Lisa had a smile that would light up any city...and the infectious 'Renfro' laugh :)
Her sunshine will be missed by the many family and friends she touched along the way.
