After graduation, he lived and worked in Cabool for a year before moving to Springfield, Missouri. There he attended Southwest Missouri State College and worked a short time for KY3. In 1959 he moved to Chicago area with his brother Tom. He completed a 5-year apprentice in Tool and Die at Vogel Tool and Die Corporation and continued working there for another 8 years. In 1964 he married Donna Leppig. In 1972 they decided to move back to Springfield, Missouri. Ben worked for Ozark Precision Products for 4 years and then went to work for Zenith Electronics in 1976 where he continued Tool and Die work for the next 18 years in the plastics division. As Zenith was closing down, Ben was offered employment at A.C. Buckhorn as the Tool and Die Manager. He worked there until his retirement in 2012. In 1998 he married Belinda and they made their home in Fair Grove, Missouri for the next 16 years.
Ben loved to watch and play golf, fish and travel to the many scenic destinations and national parks across the country with his wife Belinda.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Donna, and his brother Tom Miller. He is survived by his wife Belinda; her two sons Brent Breshears and Chris Breshears; his sister-in-law Rosanna Miller; his mother-in-law and father-in-law; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and Shiloh, his companion cat.
