To the Memory of
Jacob Moise
Who died on the 28th December 1837
In the fortieth year of his age.
His uncorrupted spirit has returned to the source fro whence its purity was derived.
Let us humbly hope that his fearless encounter with the Angel of Death, like that of his patriarchal namesake with the celestial messenger has won for him the blessing of Heaven and that his temporal title has been exchanged for a name and position in immortality. What though sepulchral gloom surround thee now Remember virtues radiate thy brow. One line thy character may comprehend. Truth steadfast champion, probity's firm friend.
