Harold Alton, 73, of Clinton Township, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at St. Joseph's Medical Center, Clinton Township. He was born Jan. 2, 1933, in Murray, Ky.Mr. Alton retired from Chrysler's Warren Truck Plant. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he enjoyed bowling at Fountainview Lanes, working on crossword puzzles, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren.His family said he was the best cook in the world.He is survived by his wife, Sue; children, Robert (Marchan) Alton, Timothy Alton, James Alton, Lisa Alton, Diane (Gordon) Hoffmeyer and Daniel Alton; brother, Hugh (Esther) Alton; grandchildren, Nicole, Steven, Terra, Jayson, Robert, Jessica and Karley; and great-grandchildren, Erikka and Aleigha.He was predeceased by his children, Kimberly Estfon and Harold Alton Jr.A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield (north of 15 Mile Road), Clinton Township, with the Rev. Gary Morelli officiating. Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today.
