Obituary: Mrs. Mary Beulah Star Dunn (Mama Dunn), of Griffin, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the home of her daughter, Betty Williams 1434 Beatty St, Griffin. Mrs. Dunn was born in Birdie Community of Spalding County, Georgia on November 11, 1917 to the late Wilson Starr and the late Edna Jones Starr. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Troy W. Dunn, Sr.; sons, Jimmy Watson Dunn, David (Mike) Dunn; grandson, Ronnie Cobb; daughters-in-law, Patsy Dunn, Cecelia Dunn; son-in-law, Ronald Cobb; sisters, Ruby Coleman, Opal Mobley, Martha Eason; brothers Glenn, Harold, Billy, Wayne Starr. Mrs. Dunn loved going to Gatlinburg, TN, Pigeon Forge, TN to the shows. When she was able, she loved getting her family together on special days, always cooking for them. She was the best cook ever and her fruit cakes made Christmas. Mrs. Dunn was the greatest Mom to her children and to the neighborhood children. You never left her house without a laugh. She loved the Lord with all her heart and put all her trust in Him. Survivors include, daughters and sons-in-law, Eleanor Cobb, Betty and Joe Williams, Joan and Chuck Owens, all of Griffin, Jean and Tommy Belcher, Jennie and Don Widegren, all of Milner; son, Troy Dunn of Griffin; 15 grandchildren, Kathy Ussery, Tim McBride, Gregg and Kelly Owens, Jimmy and Jennifer Dunn, David and Angel Dunn, Hollie Dunn, Heather Pitts, all of Griffin, Janice Cobb of Watkinsville, Ken McBride of Atlanta, Todd and Shayne McBride of Athens, Sherry and David Fouts of Hawkinsville, Tania and Eric Gosser of Kennesaw, Michael and Shelynn McSwain of Alaska, Jeff Allen of Stockbridge; 16 great grandchildren;3 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Smith of Sunny Side, Janie Wilkerson of Hampton; sister-in-law, Lucille Dunn; many nieces and nephews; very dear friends, Shirley Crowley of Griffin, Mary Farlow of Griffin. Special thanks to Sacred Journey Hospice for caring for her, Jacqueline Grant, Anika Thompson, Pastor David Riley, Erika Noble, Ms Gwen Parks, Teresa Smith. You will always be in our heart and prayers. You made her live better and she loved you all dearly. Many thanks to her granddaughter, Kathy Ussery and son-in-law, Joe Williams for loving her and helping care for her. Visitation for Mrs. Mary Beulah Dunn will be on Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Betty and Joe Williams, 1434 Beatty Street, Griffin. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Pastor Charles Hanson, Pastor Don Sansbury and Pastor Dave Riley will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Sacred Journey is asked to sit with the family. Visitations: 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Saturday, January 14th, 2012 at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home.
