12/4/1896 - Atlanta Constitution - Death of Mrs. G. T.(George Thomas) Long - After a long illness, Mrs. G. T. Long, died yesterday afternoon at the residence of her husband, 316 Highland Avenue. Mrs. Long is the engineer at the city hall and Mrs. Long was very popular. She had been sick for a long time and her death was expected by her friends and relatives. The funeral services will be held at the residence today at noon and the interment will be at Hollywood Cemetery.

A Good Lady Passed Away on Last Thursday Afternoon
Mrs. Mattie Blanche Long died Thursday afternoon at 6:10 o'clock at the residence of her husband, MR. George L. Long, 310 Highland Avenue. She had reached the age of thirty one and had been a long and patient sufferer from consumption. She leaves a husband and three children to mourn her loss.
She was a loving mother, a noble Christian and a dutiful wife. She was laid quietly to rest Friday afternoon at Hollywood cemetery, mourned by many friends and relatives. Her death was a sad blow to her friends and family.
