Edwin J. Rutherford, age 84, of West Deptford passed away peacefully at his home on January 11, 2015.

Born in Marietta, PA, Jim lived in Colonial Manor for more than 60 years, where he helped to cultivate the caring bonds of his neighborhood. He graduated from Paulsboro High School, and was a US Navy Veteran. He worked as a mailman, and then bookkeeper, retiring from Cornell Steel in Westville. Jim played ball for the Colonial Manor Boys Club, was a Boy Scout leader for many years, enjoyed woodworking, building gifts for family and friends, and working on his Model A. He loved the outdoors, hunting and working in his garden.

Loving husband of Julia A. (nee Brill) and the late Frances Ann (nee McMenamin). Father of Jim (Noreen) Rutherford of Atco, Bob (Mary Lou) Rutherford of Alloway, and Judy Rutherford of Woodbury. Brother of Bertha (Joe) Miskofski, Mary MacIntyre, and Cathy (Tom) Green. Grandfather of Courtney, Emma, Chelsea, Robby, Shannon, Garrett, Brittaney and Wesley; and great grandfather of six. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Florence Rutherford, sisters Sissy Hill and Butzer Haddock, and grandson J.R. Rutherford.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 8:30-10:30am at BOUCHER FUNERAL HOME, 1757 Delsea Dr., Deptford, NJ 08093. A Mass of Christian Burial 11:30am at Holy Angels Parish at Most Holy Redeemer Church, 1219 Delsea Dr., Westville, NJ 08093. Interment New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
