Erlene M. Abel, 80, died Friday, January 16, 2015 at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehab Center. She was the wife of Leon E. Abel. Erlene and Leon recently observed their 60th wedding anniversary

Erlene was born in Hellam Township, on October 23, 1934, a daughter of the late Walter E. and Grace C. (Landis) Becker.

She retired from Fincor after 20 years of employment. Erlene was a member of Yorkshire United Methodist Church and a 1953 graduate of Hellam High School.

In addition to her husband, Erlene is survived by two sons, Craig Abel and wife, Glenda of York, and Kerry Abel and wife, Julie of Mount Wolf; a daughter, Wanda Jean Campbell and husband, Travis of Clarksville, Md.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers; and three sisters.

A private funeral service for the family will be held at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 700 Hellam St., Wrightsville.

Burial will be in Canadochly Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Yorkshire United Methodist Church 125 Edgewood Road, York, PA 17403.
