Clyde was born on January 1895 in Bryceland, Louisiana. Her family moved to the Shady Grove community of Nacogdoches County. Clyde met Coleman and they courted and they married February 9, 1919. They operated a small filling station and grocery in Appleby, Texas. They spent the rest of their life in the same house attached to the service station. Today, their daughter lives at the same location.
