Zeke was a treasured part of our lives for approximately 7 years. Our neighbors brought him home as a pup and before we knew it, he had us wrapped around his 4 paws.
He loved it when we "roughed" him up. He loved putting his paw on my husband John's foot so John couldn't get away. Even though he loved the treats we gave him, he loved the pet jobs even more. When we got ready to leave, he would get those sad golden retriever eyes even though he knew that if he barked, John and I, or John himself would come over even if it was several times in one day.
He had a special place in the back yard where he would sit and watch for us. It was usually between two of their trees. Dogs are smart. They scope things out.
Zeke had been ill for a few weeks. At first it was Lyme Disease, but since he wasn't improving and he wasn't eating, his "parents" took him to the vet last night. A big lump was discovered through X-rays and things were bad. His parents knew there was no hope. So now Zeke has gone over the Rainbow Bridge where he is playing with other dogs.
Someone made a mistake in the burial information on Zeke Owen. I have no idea who that person was. We didn't have him cremated. He wasn't our dog. We certainly didn't give his ashes to anyone.
We will miss him terribly and will always think of him.
ZEKE; May all of your days playing on the Rainbow Bridge be fun.
