Special services will be held at the home on Cone street this morning, and a car will be in waiting at the corner of Spring and Luckie Streets. The burial will be made with Masonic honors.
The deceased had been a resident of Atlanta for more than 35 years and had a large circle of friends in the city. He leaves four daughters and three sons. Mr. Jordan was one of the city's most highly respected citizens and was engaged in active business here since the war.
Mr. Jordan was married to Virginia Unknown/Haig or Hague/Jordan on 7/11/1860. She was born about 1836 in Georgia. He was born in Alabama. Their daughter Georgia Jordan/Shirley was married to John Frances Shirley and they are both buried here. Their son, Harry Brewer is also buried here. He died of tuberculosis. Their grandson, by one of their daughter, who was married to W. R. or W. T. Bartee, died as an infant and is also buried at Hollywood. His name was Richard T. Bartee. His mother's name is not known, but is most likely Carrie or Flora.

Note (5/13/2010) - I didn't know until today that I was kin to William Henry Jordan, through his mother, Elizabeth A. Brantley/Jordan/Pelham. Someone contacted me to link him to his mother. I then realized that her maiden name was Brantley. Small world, isn't it? Judy K. Wilson
