One of the eight sons and two daughters of Samuel Oscar Goldman (1874 - 1954) and Lilly Kalfin (1874 - 1939)

Dr. Goldman was born in San Francisco, February 14, 1904. His undergraduate education was completed at the Berkeley campus of the University of California, where he received the A.B. degree in 1926, after which he enrolled in the School of Medicine and completed studies for the Doctorate in Medicine, including an internship at San Francisco in 1930.

Leon Goldman is survived by three daughters, US Senator Dianne Feinstein, Mrs. Lynne Kennedy, and Mrs. Yvonne Banks, and by four grandchildren as well as four brothers and a sister.
