American director,screenwriter and producer. Beginning his film career as an actor, and then move on to directing and screenplay. Between 1950 and 1957 he directed several films, including "Northwest Outpost" (1947), "A Ticket to Tomahawk" (1950),"Meet Me After the Show" (1951), with Betty Grable, "Malaga" (1954), and "Gentlemen Marry Brunettes" (1955) with Jane Russell and Jeanne Crain. With his wife created the television series western "Yancy Derringer".
