Mr. Rowland was born October 20, 1902, in Granbury, Texas, the son of T.M. and Mandy Langston Rowland, and died April 7, 1994, in an Ardmore nursing facility.
Arvinwas a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Burns City, Cooke County, TX, from August 2, 1913, to December 5, 1915.
He and the former Laura Johnson were married September 8, 1928, in Marietta and she preceded him in death on March 30, 1983. Mr. Rowland was a retired auto mechanic having worked for Cornish Chrysler. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 31 AF & AM for over 50 years and a member of the Worth Sunday School Class at the Ardmore First Baptist Church.
His survivors include a daughter, Mrs. W.M. Jean Brumley of Houston, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Lovella Wolaver of Ardmore; and two grandsons.
Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home. Serving as bearers were Bill Allen, Roy Gene Rowland, Ronald Jacobs, Jack Smith, Ralph Kerley and Bill Crosby. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Worth Sunday School Class.
