Early Life: Jack was born July 4, 1931, to David Bowen and Mildred Moore Larsen of Leland, Utah. He graduated from Spanish Fork High School.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Jack graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science from Utah State University in 1954. He later received a teaching endorsement from Brigham Young University and taught in Nebo School District for six years. Jack served as an officer in the United States Army at the end of the Korean Conflict. On May 30, 1954, Jack married Mary Evelyn Davis in Logan, Utah. They later divorced. Jack married Bessie Greenhalgh Perkins on March 13, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death on August 1, 1999. He later followed his true passion as a rancher and livestock man in the Spanish Fork area. He raised Columbia and Suffolk sheep, cattle and horses. He was awarded several prestigious awards: 1972 Utah Sheepman of the year, 1992 Utah Purebred Sheepman of the year. In 2013, he was inducted into the Suffolk Sheep Association Hall of Fame inaugural class of 2013. He was a member of the LDS Church and worked in the Provo Utah LDS Temple for many years until his decline in health. Jack David Larsen, of West Mountain, Utah, passed away December 31, 2014, in Payson, Utah. He was 83 years old.
