A vigil service for Frank Ralph Luis, 73, of Chico, will be 7 P.M. today at Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home.
Luis died Wednesday, July 15, 1992 at his residence, after an illness.
He was born June 2, 1919 in Ferndale, to Frank and Wilhelmina Luis. He moved in 1946 to Hamilton City, where he owned and operated a dairy farm. In 1961 he went to work for the Newland Land and Farming Co., in Chico and was their foreman until his retirement.
He married Margaret Moss in Reno, Nev., in 1963.
He was a member of the Portuguese Lodge of Ferndale.
Survivors include his wife, of Chico; a son, Jim of Salinas; a daughter, Joyce Seefeldt of Magalia; a step-son, Jim Swan of Tulsa, Okla; a step-daughter, Barbara Swan of Chico; his mother of Willows; a brother, Joe of Fortuna; three sisters, Gara Cardoza of Willows, Evelyn Brazil of Ferndale and Laura Kinzel of Bakersfield; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of the resurrection will be 10 A.M. Saturday at Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home. The Rev. Peter McKierman will officiate both services.
Visitation will be 2 P.M. to 7 P.M. today.
Private interment will be at Chico Cemetery.
Contributions maybe made to the Butte Home Health Hospice.
