Kathleen Ann “Kathi” Bimshas, 52 of Needham died suddenly in her home on July 24. 2009 Born in Dorchester on November 6, 1956 to John and Martha (Ellard) Bimshas, she was the only daughter and first of four siblings. She grew up in Wrentham and graduated from Westwood High School in 1974. Employed by Sun Life Financial for over 33 years, she focused on planning and budgets. She had a deep love for animals and adored nature, frequently photographing flowers and birds during her hikes. An artisan, Kathi also enjoyed painting, ceramics, and intricate needlework. She had equal enjoyment with puzzles and games of every type and relished enriching her vocabulary. Her fear of flying did not prevent her from fulfilling life-long dreams of trips to Europe and Australia. An exceptional storyteller, Kathi possessed great humor and passion for jokes and laughter.

She is survived by her parents Martha Bimshas of Wrentham, John and Dorothea Bimshas of South Orleans, her grandmother, Doris Ellard of Wrentham, her brothers, John “Jack” Bimshas and his wife Kim, of Ohio, James “Jim” Bimshas and his wife Judie, of New Hampshire and Karl D. Bimshas and his wife Karen of San Diego, California, seven nieces and nephews, dear friend Russell Dangora of E. Boston, and numerous humor filled and beloved friends and extended family members.

A memorial service will be held on Friday July 31, 2009 at 11am at the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Wrentham, Massachusetts. The family requests that you practice random acts of kindness in honor of Kathi, and in lieu of flowers make a donation in her name to your local animal shelter.
