Mr. Adkins had been a crane operator for 30 years for Navistar, now known as I.C.C. He had attended South Irvington Church of the Nazarene and Fall Creek Nazarene Church. Mr. Adkins was a member of Autoworker Union Local #226.
He is survived by his wife Suzie A. Adkins; son Steven F. Adkins, Jr.; daughter Erin L. Adkins; 2 stepchildren Ariell Tarwater and Carey Mays; father and stepmother John S. and Rebecca Adkins; mother Joyce A. Adkins; sisters Manda Mindach, Janice Adkins; brothers Allen and Kevin Adkins; stepbrother Randy Johnson; stepsister Miranda Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center – Washington Park East. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral center.
