William "Bill" B. Dunker, 81, of Hull, IL, passed away at 7:03 PM, Sunday, December 14, 2014, at his home.
Arrangements for cremation are under direction of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Private burial will be at Kinderhook Cemetery in Kinderhook, IL. There are no services planned at this time.
Mr. Dunker was born December 21, 1932, in Mason City, IL, to Charles Frederick and Cora Belle Petty Dunker.
He was married to Betty Shinn on September 8, 1950, in St. Louis, MO. She survives.
Other survivors include his children, Marla Ann Wheelan (Patrick) of Kinderhook, IL, and Colae Ruth Vecchie (Ronald J.) of Quincy, IL; his brother, John Dunker (Eileen) ; his sisters, Ruby Cole, June Lingwall (Bob) and Pat Likes; his sisters in law, Helen Dunker, Gretta Adkins (Wayne), and Doris Bliss; his grandchildren, Gabriel Wheelan (Tessa), Betsy Rush (Tom), Alana Gerhardt (Justin), and Alason Vecchie; his great grandchildren, Tristan Wheelan, Ethan Wheelan, Simon Wheelan, Abigail Rush, and Isabel Rush; and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews including a special great nephew, Kevin Dunker of Hull, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and eight brothers and sisters: Charles Dunker (Pauline), Virginia Schulz (Herbert), Dick Dunker (Dolores), Opal Kroencke (Lawrence), Wilbur Dunker (Charlotte), Clyde Dunker, Garnette Peters (Bill), and Pearl Hillyard; and his brothers in law: Oral Cole and Marvin Likes.
Bill was an area farmer for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, woodworking and building bird houses for Blue Birds. He loved to cook, being out in nature and was a committed conservationist. He will be remembered as a great storyteller. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family to be a benefit for Robin Shulz Johnson, in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.
