Sr. Mary Conrad Rein, O..P. was born Barbara Louise Rein on July 20, 1911 and died Sunday, March 28, 1999. She is the daughter of Conrad Cooney Rein and Julia (Huber) Rein. Sister of Mrs. Julia Rein Paine and the late Conrad Adam, Louis, Joseph Paul and Frank William Rein. Aged 87 years. Native of New Orleans. Funeral Mass Tues. March 30, 1999 at Dominican Sisters Motherhouse, 580 Broadway. Burial in Rosaryville Cemetery. Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, LA

Sister Mary Conrad Rein, a retired Dominican Nun And teacher, died Sunday at the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse. She was 87. Sister Mary Conrad was born in New Orleans and Professed her Vows In 1934.
She earned her M.A. from Peabody College for Teachers.
Sister Conrad began her early teaching years at St. Peter’s School in Reserve in 1934.
She was a teacher and Principal at many schools in southern Louisiana and Mississippi, Including Our Lady of Lourdes, St. John the Baptist and St. Matthias Schools in New Orleans.
She also was a former Dean of Women, Director of Student Teaching, Director of the Reading Center and Chairwoman of the Education Department at St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans. She Retired In 1980.
After her retirement, she would return to her beloved St. Peter in 1975 and also taught religion classes at St.Joan of Arc in LaPlace in 1979.
Survivors include a sister, Julia Rein Paine. A Mass will be said Tuesday at 10 A.M. at the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse, 580 Broadway. Visitation will begin today At 4:45 P.M., With a Prayer Service at 7:30 P.M. Burial will be in Rosaryville Cemetery In Ponchatoula. Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home is in
