Excerpt from obituary: " Funeral services were held in Gettysburg Saturday afternoon for Frank Millard, who died Wednesday of last week, August 30, at St. Mary's hospital in Pierre, and the following obituary has been contributed:
Frank Roy Nelson Millard was born June 5, 1862, in Valparaiso, Indiana. He lived in various sections of the United States until 1886, when he came to Hyde county, South Dakota. Mr. Millard was married to Myrtle Emma Welch in Hyde County, March 29, 1887. To this union five children were born, three boys and two girls. He came to Potter county during the year of 1902 and his family followed in 1904."
"Mr. Millard served the city of Gettysburg as superintendent of water works for 17 years but was forced to give up this position because of ill health."
" Mr. Millard is survived by a brother living in Nebraska, four children and six grandchildren who have the sympathy of all their friends in their sore bereavement. Local survivors are a daughter Mrs. Pat O'Hagen; and two sons, Daniel and Fred, all of Gettysburg."
