Kristian Duane "Kris" Rodseth, Elk Grove Village, IL suddenly passed away from a heart attack doing what he loved, fishing at his summer home in Stone Lake, WI. Kris was found in the middle of Lake Sissabagama, a favorite place, on his boat with his dog at his side and a line in the water. He wouldn't have planned it any other way, just not that soon. He also enjoyed playing his collection of guitars, being outdoors, especially riding snow sleds with best friends near Haywood, WI, cooking for family and friends, and supporting the St. Louis Rams, he was an avid, long-time fan. Kris' family and long-time friends were his priority and he loved spending time with them. He was always selfless in his devotion to their care and happiness. Kris always remembered special dates or memories and had a way of making everyone feel comfortable around him. A very special and loyal, beautiful soul. He knew to appreciate life. That tomorrow wasn't guaranteed. He was a Throat Cancer survivor, and to Kris, life was for living fully and for giving all he had.
Kris survived his longtime partner, Selena Christensen, by 6 months. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Anetia (Bliss) Kowalski; stepfather, Guy Kowalski; and father, Richard D. Rodseth.
Mourning his departure are his stepmother, Lillian Rodseth; brother, Mark Rodseth (Gail); sisters, Olivia Gillespie (Brett), Linda Ricker, Barbara Barnhouse (Michael), Jeanne Kellner; stepbrothers, Curt Kowalski (Terri) and Guy Kowalski, numerous nieces and nephews he was a 'Favorite Uncle' to and the countless friends that he made throughout his life.
~A Brother To All Who Knew Him~

A celebration gathering of Kris' life was held October 5, 2014, with a noon 'kickoff' at RealTime Bar & Grill in Elk Grove Village, IL.

"Still Learning How to Fly"

The hour is early
The whole world is quiet
A beautiful morning's about to ignite
I'm ready for danger
I'm ready for fire
I'm ready for something to lift me up higher
Life's been good, I guess
My ragged old heart's been blessed
With so much more than meets the eye
I've got a past I won't soon forget
You ain't seen nothing yet
I'm still learning how to fly
It's the dreams that die hard
With old habits to break
You can't let down your guard
When there's so much at stake
I'm halfway to heaven, halfway to hell
But I might roll a seven
You never can tell
Life's been good it's true
When I'm feeling just like new
The same old rules need not apply
I've got a past full of sticks and stones
And a good feeling in my bones
I'm still learning how to fly
I want to go faster
I don't want to slow down
I don't want to get off of this merrygoround
I want to be reckless
I want to be vain
I want to make love like a runaway train
Life's been good I said
I'm 10, 000 miles ahead
The day I rest is the day I die
I've got a past like a broken wing
But you ain't seen anything
I'm still learning how to fly
I'm still learning how to fly
