Arthur T. Strike, 94, of Cambridge died Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Cambridge Medical Center.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, at Strike Funeral Home - Cambridge Chapel. A visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral Thursday at the church.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, at North Isanti Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Larson and Rev. Harold Erickson officiating. Soloist will be Edith Johnson and Lois Larson will serve as organist. Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Lindgren, Gary Lindgren, Hugo Strike, Sr. and Ralph Strike. Pallbearers will be Philip Carlson, Clark Dahlin, Steve Lindgren, Matthew Shelley, Trevor Strike, Dick Thunstrom and Jim Thunstrom.

Interment will be in Strike Cemetery in Bradford Township.

Arthur Tony Strike was born February 16, 1912, on the home farm in Bradford Township in rural Isanti to William and Emelia (Roeder) Strike. He was raised and attended school in Bradford Township. On April 26, 1941, he married Judith Engquist. They made their home on Art's family farm where they would live for 38 years. After Art's farming accident he worked at the Arsenal for six years. Art was baptized and a member of Elim Baptist Church in Isanti. In 1979 they moved to the Deerwood area to their lake home. Art then joined Temple Baptist Church in Brainerd. In 1998 they moved to Pine Village in Cambridge, and Art then joined North Isanti Baptist Church. Art loved farming, hunting and fishing.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Lyle; grandson, Justin Strike; granddaughter, Lisa Strike; by an infant brother, Ira Lester Strike; and by sisters, Fern Dahlin, Mable Thunstrom, Fran Massey and Elsie Townsley.

He is survived by his wife, Judith of Cambridge; children, Sharon (Lonnie) Shelley of Isanti, Dale (Wanda) Strike of Isanti, Marlys (Tom) Nelson of Cambridge; by nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and by many other relatives and friends.
