He was a member of the National Guard and was employed by McQuiddy Printing Company for 42 years.
"Pops" as known to all would say was a loving and caring grandfather. He was the grandchildren's biggest advocate where ever they were, is where he would be.
Pops enjoyed many things through the years like baseball, bowling, and golf, but nothing compared to the passion he had for photography. He traveled, visiting Hawaii and Florida and stopping at any golf course or baseball field on the way.
When describing Pops however, the first true thing that comes to mind his is love for God and his church. He served many years as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and singing in the choir. He was a devoted member of Bluegrass Baptist Church for many years until moving to First Baptist Church of Hendersonville.
Pops enjoyed life and everything in it, from prayer before meals with his family at Sunday dinner, to Easter Egg Hunts and to the even smaller thing like sharing a Strawberry-Banana Milkshake with the grandchildren. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy that will remain in the hearts and minds of all. He will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Mr. Pennington is preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Jean Pennington and daughter Sheree Miller-Goode.
He is survived by his two sons, Chip Pennington and Jeff (Tina) Pennington; brother, Johnny (Sharon) Pennington; and grandchildren, Tyler (Lisa) Goode, Zachary Pennington, Denver Pennington, and Kyle Pennington.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 2:30 with Tyler Goode officiating at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
