Maudie E. Abel, 89, of Clarksville died Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at East Texas Medical Center in Clarksville at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received her into their care.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Neil Higginbotham officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Hicks in Paris.
She was born Aug. 12, 1912 in Leary, the daughter of John W. and Jenny Collinsworth.
She worked for Geotech-Teledyne in Garland until her retirement in 1974. She lived in the Atlanta area until moving to Paris in 1993 to be near her daughter.
Survivors include her daughters, Jane Hicks and husband James of Paris; three grandchildren, Robin Mayhew and husband Brad of Ft. Worth, Brian Palmer of Paris and Wendy Hendrix and husband Jerry of Paris; five great grandchildren.
