Ophelia "Sis" Jo Ross Chapman, 89, of Walton, died Thursday at her residence. She was a retired cook for King's Restaurant, Walton, and a member of First Baptist Church of Walton and American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Walton. Her husband, Phil Chapman; sons, Charles Bowlin and Richard Bowlin; and daughters, Carol "Sue" Nance and Wilma York, preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Belvins Bowlin of Union and Billy Bowlin of LaGrange; a daughter, Edna Kittrell of Walton; brothers, Russell Ross and Barney Ross, both of Florida; sisters, Georgia Cornelison of Richmond, Alice Richardson of Hamilton, Ohio, and Evelyn Thompson of Georgia; 21 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Walton, 47 S. Main St., Walton, Ky. 41094.
